What is metabolic Health and how can we achieve it?
There is too much focus on calories and weight per se. Metabolic health is far more meaningful.
To be metabolically healthy means that you choose foods and eat in a way that reduces your risk of conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
These all start to overlap with poor food choices or unbalanced meals. The foundation for all of this is balancing blood sugar, but it goes beyond this.
It measures these important health factors: fasting blood glucose, insulin levels. HbA1C (average blood glucose levels), total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides, blood pressure and uric acid levels. And very important: Waist measurement.
