Nutrition in the News – Metabolic Health PODCAST
In this podcast, I talk about the latest news in nutrition and health and focus more deeply on metabolic health. If you want to hear my take on nutritional values and what’s being said on the news about them then watch my latest video or listen to the podcast.
To be metabolically healthy means that you choose foods and eat in a way that reduces your risk of conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
These all start to overlap with poor food choices or unbalanced meals. The foundation for all of this is balancing blood sugar but it goes beyond this.
It measures these important health factors: fasting blood glucose, insulin levels. HbA1C (average blood glucose levels), total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides, blood pressure and uric acid levels. And very important: Waist measurement.
