Why a nutritionist for Wroughton

Local, expert support for your gut, your energy and your wellbeing

I am Caroline Peyton, a naturopath and registered nutritional therapist with my clinic at Wood Street Wellbeing, 10 Wood Street, Swindon, SN1 4AB, just up the hill from Wroughton. The clinic is conveniently located for clients across Wroughton, Chiseldon, Wanborough, Burderop, Badbury and the surrounding south Swindon villages. There is also a Cotswolds clinic at Greatfield House, Top Road, Kempsford, GL7 4EG, and online consultations cover anyone elsewhere in the UK.

Most people who come to me have been around the houses already. They have spoken to the GP, perhaps had blood tests or a scope, and walked away with a label and not much in the way of a plan. They want answers, not another prescription.

That is what I do. I take a thorough naturopathic case history, look for the underlying drivers, and build you a clear plan you can actually follow. Sometimes that includes specialist gut testing, sometimes it does not. Always it is personalised, sustainable and explained in plain English so you understand exactly why we are doing what we are doing.

If you are ready to stop guessing, the first step is a free 20-minute discovery call. No pressure, no obligation. We work out together whether nutritional therapy is the right next step for you.

Educational deep-dive

The naturopathic approach, in plain English

The word “naturopath” gets used in a lot of different ways. Here is what it means in my practice, why it shapes how I work, and what to expect if you have not seen a naturopath before.

The Myth
“Naturopathy means avoiding modern medicine and only using herbs.”
The Reality
Naturopathy works alongside modern medicine. It addresses the underlying terrain so the body has the conditions it needs to heal.
01

Look at the whole picture

A naturopathic case history is long because the body is not made of separate compartments. Sleep, stress, digestion, hormones, mood, skin and energy are all linked. Symptoms in one system are usually clues about another. We follow the threads rather than chasing one symptom in isolation.

02

Look for the root cause

The presenting symptom is often the loudest part of the story, not the most important. A naturopathic plan looks for the conditions that allowed the symptom to develop. Fix those, and the symptom often resolves on its own. Treat only the symptom, and it tends to come back wearing a different costume.

03

Use the gentlest effective intervention first

Diet, lifestyle, sleep, stress work and targeted nutrients come first because they support the body’s own systems. Functional testing comes in where the picture needs sharpening. Pharmaceuticals have their place and we work alongside, never against, your GP. The principle is least intervention, most information.

04

Treat the person, not the diagnosis

Two clients with the same diagnosis can need very different plans because they are very different people. Genetics, history, lifestyle, stress, hormonal stage and personal goals all matter. Naturopathic plans are not protocols. They are bespoke, and they are designed to fit the life you actually live.

About Caroline Peyton

Naturopath, Nutritionist and Gut Health Expert

I was an overweight child who loved food, puddings, chocolate and cake. After university I threw myself into corporate life, juggling a pressurised job with twin daughters, drained, stressed and dealing with confidence-zapping skin conditions. The light-bulb moment came when I realised I was passionate about nutrition and health, and so began a five year journey into naturopathy and gut health.

I qualified with a Diploma in Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy in 2009 and have been in clinical practice ever since. Along the way I helped launch the Naturopathic Nutrition Association and chaired it for seven years, ran the Natural Healthcare College as Principal for five years, and in June 2024 I was invited onto the Board of the General Naturopathic Council, the UK regulator for Naturopathy.

What that means for you, in plain terms: you are working with someone who has done this for over 15 years, who takes the time to understand the whole picture, and who is held to professional standards that put your wellbeing first.

What clients in and around Wroughton say

A small selection from the full reviews page. Real clients, real words, lightly excerpted.

“Caroline’s dietary advice was simple and very easy to follow.”

When I first signed as a Professional Boxer I needed to dramatically change my diet so that I could lose over a stone, in order to achieve my fighting weight, whilst at the same time maintaining high energy levels in order to support an intensive training regime. The dietary advice given was simple and very easy to follow and most important of all it was extremely effective.

Andrew McCaffrey, Swindon
“Caroline gave all her advice in one session, with one shorter follow-up.”

I was very pleased with the outcome of my consultation with Caroline. Caroline quickly and accurately assessed my two major health concerns, and provided me with a new diet plan which was simple to follow and provided instant results.

Mr D. C., Swindon
“Caroline is very professional and thorough.”

I am very pleased with the service I have received from Caroline. She is very professional and thorough which makes me feel confident about her recommendations. She has helped me to make positive changes to my diet and has shown me how to incorporate new food ideas for myself.

Liz, Swindon
“Caroline’s extensive knowledge and expertise has changed my situation considerably.”

My problems started a long time ago mainly due to work life sending stress direct to my gut. I’ve tried various people over twenty five years but I’m sorry to say they simply do not have the right expertise. I can now enjoy and digest a number of foods and yes, there is more to do but only with Caroline’s help.

Common questions

Wroughton nutritionist FAQs

If your question is not answered below, just ask on the discovery call.

Where is your clinic for Wroughton clients?

The Swindon clinic is at Wood Street Wellbeing, 10 Wood Street, Swindon, SN1 4AB, in Old Town Swindon, just up the hill from Wroughton. There is also a Cotswolds clinic at Greatfield House, Top Road, Kempsford, GL7 4EG. Online consultations via Zoom are available for clients elsewhere in the UK.

Which areas around Wroughton does your clinic cover?

The Swindon clinic is conveniently located for clients across Wroughton, Chiseldon, Wanborough, Burderop, Badbury and the surrounding south Swindon villages. For anyone further afield, online consultations cover the rest of the UK.

What happens on the free 20-minute discovery call?

It is a relaxed conversation by Zoom or phone. You tell me what is going on, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping for. I explain how I work and which programme might fit. There is no pressure to book anything afterwards.

Will I be put on a long list of supplements?

No. Supplements are tools, not the plan. Where they are useful, I recommend a small, targeted set with a clear purpose and timeline. Diet, lifestyle and stress work always come first.

Do you work with children?

Yes, with parental consent. Paediatric work is paced differently and uses age-appropriate strategies. We do a longer initial consultation with the parent or carer present.

Can I see you for a one-off session rather than a programme?

Yes. The Health MOT is a single 90-minute consultation that gives you a clear plan to take away. Some clients use it as a standalone, others as a way to test working together before committing to a longer programme.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. You can book directly. If you would like me to liaise with your GP at any point, I am happy to write to them with your consent.

What if I am not in the UK?

Online consultations work globally via Zoom. Any functional testing kits we use are couriered to you. Clients in different time zones are welcome.
